When TCC in DuQuoin, IL applied for a TCC Gives grant for the Perry-Jackson Child Advocacy Center, we knew we had to help! The Perry-Jackson Advocacy center helps children infant through 18 who have made abuse allegations. They help these children get through their story in a discreet and comfortable manor, located in an old home. We commend them for the services they provide, like bringing in forensic interviewer to observe for these serious investigations, ensuring the children don’t have to tell this story over and over. So, when they said their handicap ramp was in need of major repairs we knew we could help. Attached is the picture taken with Hannah from the Verizon store in DuQuoin, IL from their new ramp!
Thank you for the update and the photos of your completed project. We are honored to be able to help your organization. Keep up the important work!
From Executive Director, Betty Mucha: “This ramp allows handicapped clients and/or their families to access our building for their child’s forensic interview upon a disclosure of sexual and/or physical abuse. The ramp is required for our accessibility standard for national accreditation which is required for all 3 of our major state/federal grants. This grant helped us with a very large project that would have had to take money away from other necessities to keep our doors open and help us serve victims to the best of our ability. We are so very thankful for your help!”
